About us

The company was founded in the year 2007 as a Technical Bureau by Hans Unterfrauner and developed into a private limited company (GmbH) in February 2015. Before that, Mr. Unterfrauner worked for many years at the department of Forest- and Soil Sciences (Institute of Soil Research) at the University of Natural Resources and Live Sciences (BOKU), for the ÖKO-Datenservice GmbH and BoWaSan (research department of the company Bodenkalk e. Gen.).

The Technical Bureau focuses on agricultural soil science, the recording and evaluation of soil fertility by means of well-founded soil analyses in its own laboratory, and the identification of future-oriented solutions for practice. In more than 70 seminars and practical workshops every year, Hans Unterfrauner passionately conveys his know-how and thus bridges the gap between science and practice.

The dissemination  of pedological knowledge and the promotion of awareness for the complex soil ecosystem are just as much a part of the company philosophy as a respectful interaction with each other and the environment. With his team of specialists, Hans supervises international research and practical projects on behalf of interest groups, municipalities and small and large agricultural enterprises.

As a member of the committee of Austrian Standards (ÖNORM) for the section “Boden als Pflanzenstandort“ and the working group “Bodenchemie“, the Austrian Soil Science Society (ÖBG) and the Alliance for Life Sciences, food, veterinary expertise and agriculture (ALVA), the bureau is very well connected within the soil community. Since 2007, Hans Unterfrauner is a lecturer at the University of Vienna in the fields of Soil Ecology and Soil Geography.
